New York Mets

The New York Mets were one of Major League Baseball's first expansion teams. When the New York Giants and the Brooklyn Dodgers left New York circa 1962, the Mets were founded to fill the gap, borrowing orange from the Giants and blue from the Dodgers to form their colors. Just 7 years later, the “Miracle Mets” pulled off what is considered to be one of the biggest-ever World Series upsets, defeating the Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series. They have since appeared in the World Series three more times, winning another title in 1986. Currently, Tom Seaver is the only Baseball Hall-of-Famer to bear the Mets logo, although Expo Hall-of-Famer Gary Carter requested to bear the Mets insignia on his plaque as well.

Located in the borough of Queens, Citi Field was architecturally designed to reflect the 2,027 bridges that connect New York City itself. The park has housed the Mets since 2009, and has been praised as one of sports' top 100 venues and as a “perfect” baseball park. When you visit Citi Field, you will have the opportunity to check out its gorgeous Jackie Robinson Rotunda, which honors the life and achievements of the Brooklyn Dodgers legend. Be sure to grab a bite at Taste of the City, The World's Fare Market, or one of the park's other highly-esteemed culinary spots. Hungry for your Mets tickets and a visit to Citi Field?
