Boston Bruins

Although the National Hockey League consisted of 10 teams during the 1920s, with the financial struggles and the military enlistments associated with WWII, the league shrunk to six teams in 1942. The NHL was limited to these 6 teams until 1967, when they became known to hockey fans as the “Original Six” in relation to a large 1966-67 NHL expansion to 12 teams. The Boston Bruins are one of the Original Six, and are quite literally the beginning of American NHL history. Boston businessman Charles Adams founded the team, having fallen in love with hockey after watching the 1924 Stanley Cup finals and appealing to the NHL to include an American team in its 1924-25 season, two-team expansion. The Boston Bruins became the first American NHL franchise and the third-oldest active franchise in the league, and the team boasts six Stanley Cup championships (tied for the fifth most all-time and second most in America with the Chicago Blackhawks). Boston Bruin legends include one of the greatest players of all time, Bobby Orr, as well as Aubrey “Dit” Clapper, Cam Neely, Ray Bourque and Phil Esposito, who was the first NHL player to break the 100-point mark and is one of only four to have won the Art Ross Trophy in four consecutive years.

When you get your Boston Bruins tickets, you'll be heading to the team's home ice at TD Garden, home of both the Bruins and the NBA's Boston Celtics. Nicknamed “The Garden” or the “Boston Garden,” the arena features a bronze statue in honor of defensive great Bobby Orr and houses The Sports Museum of New England.
