Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals, a charter member of the NFL, were born long before the league itself. In fact, they are the league's oldest continuously-operating team. In 1898, the Morgan Athletic Club was founded. Acquiring used jerseys from the University of Chicago a few years later, which were described as “cardinal red,” the team name was changed to the Racine Street Cardinals. After joining the NFL as a charter team in 1920, the Cardinals won two pre-Super Bowl era NFL championships in 1925 and 1947, and on Thanksgiving Day in 1929, Hall of Fame RB Ernie Nevers made history, scoring all 40 points in the team's 40-6 win over the Chicago Bears. His record still stands today. The Cardinals moved from Chicago to St. Louis in 1960, and finally to Phoenix, AZ in 1988. Since the final move, the team has been a more serious NFL contender than ever, with multiple division titles and a Super Bowl XLIII appearance.

When you get your Cardinals tickets, you'll be on your way to the University of Phoenix Stadium, which is an architectural and athletic icon for the city. With both a retractable roof and a retractable natural-grass playing turf, the venue was named by Business Week as one of the 10 most impressive sports facilities on the globe – the only American facility on the list. The shape of the stadium is loosely based on that of a barrel cactus, and its exterior is designed to look like a coiled rattlesnake. Tailgate on the Great Lawn before the game, and then head into the state-of-the-art facility for an exciting home game experience.
